Really Red

Really Red

Watch / Sunglasses / Flats / Satchel / Duffel Bag / Earrings

Colors are fun to play around with and everyone should own something red.
Adding pops of color is one of my favorite fashion trends and red is the perfect color
to make a statement. Classically, red is paired with black and leopard prints, but to
bust the status quo, pair with floral prints and a pair of leopard heels for a 'wow' look.
If you are trying to dress up a casual outfit, throw on a red scarf, sunglasses, or earrings
and a generous application of red lip color--the ultimate attention-grabber. Keep it classy
in a professional setting, red has a sexy stigma tied to it's name--no red undergarments
with see thru clothing.

Guest Blogger: Steals & Deals

Sydney Lutsch is a Chicago born, Cincinnati bred, and current resident of
Bowling Green, Kentucky where she attends Western Kentucky University.
She is an avid lover of sushi, craft beers, and figuring out how to snag the
best deals on a college budget.

Follow her on Instagram: @Sydneylutsch

Dress: H&M [sale rack] $5.99 Bracelet: Charlotte Russe $5
Necklace: Banana Republic $1.99 Shoes: Rampage 16.99
Belt: Francesca's Collections: $10

Besides the smart, guitar playing, shy guy in high school, sale racks are one
of the most overlooked things in the world. The stigma that a good deal is
embarrassing, that the sale clothes are ugly/out of style, or the fact that it may
require a little extra effort are completely invalid. Here are some of the reasons
why clothes are on sale rack proving why I love a good sale rack find:

1. Most of the times if you are are between sizes 00-0, 6-8, or 12+ you are the
main sizes available. For some reasons that sizes tend to be left over more than
any other. However, if you do not fall into that category, do not fear! There are
always hidden little gems that pop up. Don't be afraid to check out sizes that
surround your size. Labels size differently and you might be surprised. Some of
my best finds have been a size or two up that I belted with tights, or a size or
two down that I tucked into a high waisted skirt.

2. It didn't sell well. WHO CARES? If it looks cute on you, fits well, and you have
the look to pull it off, BUY IT. When has it ever been a bad idea to look different?

3. It was an online return. My experience in retail is that some of the best sales
are on returned items from online or in store. Many return policies are 60-90 days
(except the always dreaded forever 21). That means that people may wait almost
3 months to return something. By that time, it's probably on sale.
Their loss is your gain.

Flowers, Spikes, & Everything Nice

Flowers and Spikes and everything nice

With the summer hydrangeas in full bloom, grad parties galore, and afternoon lunch
dates in session, dressing the part is so much more fun in June. Lately, different shades
of blue have tickled my fancy and living in the Cincinnati area (Kentucky Wildcat country),
I haven't had a problem with finding all-things-royal.

Blue is one of those colors that really do go with everything. I suppose you could say
that about many hues, but blues truly do. Black, greys, tans, browns, greens,
and even red--USA!

It is certainly easy to obtain an affordable version of this look. Go thrifting at your
local consignment store or rummage through grandma's closet--there is no better place to
find bright colors and jazzy florals than my Grandma Judy's closet (she could have easily
qualified to be on an episode of Hoarders).

I have the tendency to gravitate toward the funky and vintage--not the pinks and
greens. But maybe, just maybe, I will start sorting through the Lilly Pullitzer prints and
adding a few spikes and studs to fit my wardrobe.

Pink Summer Decor

Temporary decor is a fabulous way to change up a room for the season without a hammer and nails.
Also remember to choose items that are easy to pack up and store once the season is over.
A tray for the ottoman, a rug in the kitchen, a pillow on the chaise, and a trinket dish for the powder room.

Studded Flats

Whether you're rocking out at Lollapalooza with your music festival fashion or to an outdoor movie at the park complete with sushi takeout, these studded flats are a fun way to dress up a plain outfit.
